Ch 1:
v.5-10: must admit we sin & confess sins to God, then we're purified (made holy!)

Ch 2:
v.2: whole world
v.3-6: no doubt about it - must live as Jesus did; God's love complete in us if we obey his word - what an incentive
v.15-17: easier said than done - how can we try & do it? v.17 answers question to an extent - good verse to remember
v.25: promise of eternal life
v.28: we can be unashamed before God!
